It’s been close to 2 years since Prince Kaybee broke into the music scene with his smash-hit Better Days featuring Audrey on vocals. He owned the summer with that song and went on to sign with Born In Soweto licensed under Universal Music Group. At the time, Prince Kaybee’s breakthrough read like a fictional rags to riches story.
Fast forward two years and his name is synonymous with the South African music landscape, he is undoubtedly one of the torchbearers of the next generation of local House music producers. His debut album achieved commercial success selling well over 20 000 copies on the back of not only his debut single Better Days, but the surprise resurgence of Wa Jellwa which he had dropped prior to Better Days, Wa Jellwa was a massive hit in its own right. With the scene solely focussed on him, Prince Kaybee was commissioned to remix numerous big-name singles, winning a DJ competition tv show, a MetroFM Best Dance Album award and Best Remix a year later.
After dropping Charlotte featuring Lady Zamar almost a year ago, he followed up with Yonkinto before announcing some of the names featured on the album. You can look forward to a line-up of big hitters in the form of Charlotte’s Lady Zamar, Kalawa chickita Busiswa, Idols coach Donald, fellow Free Stater Presss, Afrotainment’s Naakmusiq, Zanda Zakusa on Yonkinto and the sultry Mpumi on Prince Kaybee’s sophomore titled I AM MUSIC.
To quote ASAHD’s dad, “ANOTHER ONE!”
